I'm Liam, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the Logan Square / Avondale neighborhood of Chicago where I offer individual therapy appointments. I primarily use the methods of Strengths Based, Client-Driven, and Person-Centered talk therapy. I have always believed in the idea that the foremost authorities on the inner workings of people's lives are themselves and additionally within each and every person is capacity and desire for personal and social growth. My job is assisting you in finding means to solutions around what may be blocking you from reaching a more enriched life. I work with a myriad of people on a variety of issues and have been in social services 10+ years (school social work, inpatient hospital work, crisis work/detox intake in an emergency room, working in an outpatient nonprofit treatment center in the suburbs before going out on my own) and have been in private practice since 2017. I like humanistic psychology a lot and try to approach that from a trauma informed perspective. I think that generally a lot of my work is helping clients connect with themselves (them telling me about them/me getting to know the person in session) better which becomes a multi-tool for connecting to others in social/romantic/work/familial settings. This empowers clients to approach their lives from a trauma perspective having a better grasp of old needs/unmet needs and being able to advocate for themselves moving forward. I have found this improves peoples' quality of life fairly dramatically.

I am in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield's PPO and UnitedHealthcare's PPO plans. Otherwise my full fees are $180 for an assessment (initial session) and $150 for 50-55 minute sessions following. I do occasionally have room on my caseload for sliding scale clients based on income. I am offering sessions for folks both online and in person; depending on your comfort level (or convenience) due to COVID-19 . My office is located at 3021-A N Milwaukee Avenue Chicago, IL 60618
